Large Event Tent Factory Test Assembly Before Delivery

A large event tent factory test assembly allows the complete structure to be checked before packing and shipment. Instead of inspecting aluminum profiles, connectors and PVC covers separately, the factory team assembles the tent as a complete system and checks whether all components fit and work together correctly.

Our factory carried out this outdoor test assembly on August 8.. The process included preparing the components, assembling the aluminum frames, raising and stabilizing the structure, connecting the roof members, installing the PVC roof cover, checking its tension and completing the sidewall installation.

This factory test gives overseas customers a clearer understanding of the supplied tent system before delivery. It also allows possible connection, alignment or material-fit issues to be identified while the equipment is still at the factory.

Why Conduct a Large Event Tent Factory Test Assembly?

A large aluminum event tent contains multiple frame sections, longitudinal members, braces, connectors, fasteners and PVC materials. Although each component is produced according to the project requirements, a complete test assembly provides a more direct inspection of the entire system.

During the test, the team can verify the main frame spacing, connection sequence, roof geometry, PVC cover dimensions and final appearance. Components that require adjustment can be identified before the structure is dismantled and packed.

For an overseas project, completing these checks at the factory can reduce uncertainty during the customer's installation. It also provides photos and video that the receiving installation team can use as a practical reference.

 

Prepare the Ground Layout Before Raising the Frames

The installation begins by arranging the main structural components on a suitable working area. The roof frames, columns, lower connecting members, braces and connection hardware are placed according to the planned assembly sequence.

In this test, a horizontal ground member was positioned between the two column locations before the frame was raised. The length of this component provided a direct spacing reference for the columns and reduced the need to measure the same distance again after lifting.

Preparing the lower members and braces in advance also allows the installation team to stabilize the frame more quickly once it reaches the upright position.

 

Assemble and Inspect the Main Aluminum Frame

The main roof frame is assembled on the ground so that workers can reach both sides of each connection. The aluminum profiles are aligned carefully before the connection hardware is installed and tightened.

At this stage, the team checks whether the profiles are correctly seated and whether the main connectors, pins, bolts and fastening points match the planned configuration.

Completing this work at ground level makes inspection easier. A small alignment problem is much easier to correct before the frame has been lifted several metres above the ground.

The factory team also confirms that the assembly sequence is practical. Clear component identification and an organized installation order make the later customer-site installation easier to understand and manage.

 

Raise the Main Frame in a Controlled Sequence

After the main aluminum frame has been assembled and checked, a forklift is used to assist with the lifting process.

The lifting ropes on both sides need to be arranged carefully so that the frame rises evenly. If the effective rope lengths are noticeably different, the structure may tilt during lifting and become more difficult to control.

A worker on the opposite side uses a control rope to guide the movement of the frame. His role is to control the direction of the structure while its centre of gravity changes from the horizontal position to the upright position.

Once the frame reaches the upright position, the previously prepared lower members and braces can be connected. The frame should be stabilized before the crew continues with the next structural section.

The lifting method for an actual project should always be selected according to the tent size, frame weight, available equipment, working space and site conditions.

 

Use Control Ropes to Adjust the Second Frame

When the second main frame is raised, the distance and alignment between the two upright frames may still require adjustment before the horizontal connecting members can be installed.

In this factory test, two additional control ropes were kept around the middle area of the second frame. The workers used these ropes to make small positioning adjustments from the ground.

If the distance between the frames was too wide on one side, the corresponding rope could be used to pull the frame slightly closer. This made it easier to align the connection points before installing the longitudinal members.

The control ropes are used only for positioning during the installation process. They do not replace the structural bracing, anchoring or final stabilization system.

 

Complete the Roof Structure Before Installing the PVC Cover

After the main frames are upright and temporarily stabilized, the longitudinal roof members are installed between them. These members connect the individual frame sections and form the complete roof structure.

The team checks the spacing and alignment of the upright frames while installing the longitudinal members. Lower connecting members and diagonal braces are also secured according to the tent configuration.

The PVC roof cover should not be installed until the main aluminum structure has been connected and checked. The roof frame must form a continuous and stable structure before the fabric is moved into position.

The team inspects the main connectors, roof members and braces before continuing to the PVC installation stage.

 

Insert the PVC Cover into the Aluminum Profile Channel

After the aluminum roof structure has been completed, the team begins installing the PVC roof cover.

At the open end of the aluminum profile, the reinforced edge of the PVC cover is aligned carefully with the guide channel. The edge is then inserted into the side groove before the workers begin pulling the cover along the frame.

Correct alignment at the profile opening is important. If the PVC edge is not properly seated inside the groove, the cover may twist, become uneven or jam while being pulled across the roof structure.

The workers therefore check that the PVC edge remains inside the channel while gradually moving the cover into its correct position.

Once the PVC cover has reached the required position, the team begins securing and tensioning it around the roof structure.

 

Check the PVC Roof Tension by Hand

The PVC roof cover is tightened gradually rather than being treated as a single-step installation. Workers adjust the cover around the roof edges so that the surface follows the roof geometry evenly.

After the tensioning system has been tightened, a worker taps the PVC surface by hand. The firmness and rebound of the material provide a quick practical indication of whether the cover has sufficient tension.

If the PVC surface still feels loose and soft with little rebound, further adjustment may be required. When the roof cover has sufficient tension, the surface feels firmer and produces a clearer rebound when tapped.

Checking the tension is important for more than appearance. A loose roof cover may form low areas where rainwater can collect. Proper tension helps the water follow the designed roof slope instead of remaining on the PVC surface.

The hand-tap method is a useful on-site check, but it should be used together with the tent manufacturer's specified installation, tensioning, drainage and weather-safety requirements.

 

Install the PVC Sidewalls

After the roof structure and PVC cover have been completed, the installation moves to the sidewalls.

Each sidewall panel is aligned with the vertical frame and secured along its edges. The lower section is also adjusted so that the material hangs evenly without obvious twisting.

In this factory test, clear-window sidewall panels were installed to demonstrate the completed enclosed event space.

Installing the sidewalls after completing the main roof work prevents the wall panels from obstructing structural assembly and roof-cover tensioning.

The team checks the position of each sidewall and confirms that the panels match the supplied frame sections.

 

Inspect the Completed Event Tent

After the sidewalls have been installed, the complete event tent is inspected as one finished system.

The factory team checks whether the main columns remain aligned, whether the roof members and braces are correctly positioned, whether the connectors are secured and whether the PVC materials fit the completed structure.

The final inspection normally includes:

• Main column and roof-frame alignment
• Longitudinal roof-member connections
• Lower members and diagonal braces
• Pins, bolts and connection hardware
• PVC roof-cover position and tension
• Roof edges and profile channels
• Sidewall alignment and fastening
• Completeness of the supplied components

The factory test assembly confirms the component fit and installation sequence before packing. However, the customer's final anchoring, ballast and weather-management plan must still be determined according to the actual project location, ground conditions, tent dimensions and local safety requirements.

 

From Factory Inspection to Packing and Shipment

After the customer has reviewed the completed test assembly, the tent can be dismantled in an organized sequence.

The aluminum frame sections, connection hardware, braces and PVC materials are classified and prepared for packing. Small accessories should be organized separately so that they can be identified easily after delivery.

A complete large event tent project normally follows this process:

Production → Factory test assembly → Inspection → Customer confirmation → Dismantling → Packing → Container loading → Customer-site installation

This process allows the manufacturer to identify potential issues before shipment and gives the customer a clearer record of the supplied structure.
